I am Oscar
Gender: Male / Amputation: BKA
Foot: Venture / Shell color: Brown
This is my story
I never thought after just one week of walking and skateboarding in the Venture foot, that there'd be a new spring in my step! The Venture foot feels great and I can already tell it is durable because after one skate session with it I was ollieing off stairs with no problem. The Venture foot is so good! I'm stoked College Park could hook me up. They make the best feet out there in the industry!
Oscar Loreto, Jr. was born in Hollywood, CA in July of 1986 and was raised in Lynwood, CA where he was introduced to his first look at action sports. Oscar was born with a congenital birth defect that caused him to be missing his left foot, his left hand and four fingers of this right hand. After countless doctor visits as a child, he learned and adapted to his prosthesis quickly. He learned to write with both his hands and lived a close to normal childhood. Soon after middle school Oscar and his mother moved to Downey, CA. Downey would now open Pandoras Box of skateboarding.
Knowing he had a challenge in front of him, Oscar leaned how to skate with a prosthetic leg. It was frustrating and difficult for Oscar to learn tricks on his skateboard, but after hard work and determination he slowly progressed. Being new at Downey High School, Oscar quickly found himself spending time with other skaters, They automatically clicked and Oscar formed a skate team named VOID. Oscar and his team of skaters produce their own skate videos in order for them to gain exposure.
Oscar received his first sponsorship at his local skate shop, Downey Skate, and now through Adaptive Action Sports he has product sponsorship through ELEMENT Skateboards. Oscar does well in the local skate world and other outlets including through his prosthetic company Scope Orthotics and Prosthetics who is also a sponsor. They are not hesitant at all to sponsor Oscar and help out with any skate equipment he needs.
Oscar continues to skate daily while filming, editing and producing skate videos and videos for Adaptive Action Sports. Oscar is a graduate form California State University Long Beach with a degree in Documentary Film Making. Oscar's sponsors include: AAS, ELEMENT Skateboards, Etnies Shoes, Scope O&P, Push Griptape, VOID, and Chrisp Photography.
