 Name: Alex Bensching
Age: 9 Years Old
Type of Amputation: Uni-Lateral B/K
It's an understatement to say that 9-year-old Alex Bensching is energetic. Alex is the kind of kid who is always trying to run faster and jump higher. In the past, Alex knew in his heart that he could do more, but his prosthetic foot just couldn't keep up with him.
Then Alex and his parents went to Schindler's Prosthetics in Spokane, WA and were introduced to the College Park® TruPer® Foot. At age 7 Alex tried the TruPer. Alex's Dad, Bruce, remembers, "it was immediately easier for him to jump around and play." Today Alex is excited to tell people about his TruPer saying, "I think my TruPer Foot is great, it does stuff my other foot didn't do. I can run faster and I can jump a lot better. I can almost run as fast as my cousin can now."
Day-by-day Alex becomes more active. He loves to play sports and particularly enjoys soccer & baseball. We asked Alex what other things he likes to do for fun he said, "go camping with my cousins during the summer, go out on the boat and go swimming in the river... and I like to ride my bike."
Alex's parents are very happy to see how the TruPer Foot has enhanced his natural abilities. The only time Alex takes off his leg is to sleep at night. That means his TruPer is with him 16 hours each day. Bruce says, "As a parent, you want the best for your child. You want him to be treated just like every other kid. [With the TruPer], things are just easier for Alex now."
