Name: Rafael Ramos
Type of Amputation: Uni-Lateral B/K
 In the country of Ecuador in 1989, Rafael Ramos was born an amputee. While in his mothers womb he suffered from amniotic bridle which caused him to lose his left leg below the knee.
When Rafael was 4 years old he met Prosthetist, Santiago Munoz through Protelite. Santiago took an interest in helping the little boy live without limitations on his activities. "When I needed a better prosthetic, he would help me." Rafael says, "His kindness helped me with getting the TruStep, my first College Park foot."
Rafael now a student, who loves being active and taking part in sports, tried the Sach foot for a short period of time and also used a foot with an ankle called the Impulse. "Before getting my College Park foot, when I would walk or jump I would feel a dead spot with out an impulse." Rafael describes, "The other feet were too rigid and limited a lot of my daily activities, not to mention the sporting actives that I love."
 Upon trying out his new TruStep foot Rafael boasts, "It was wonderful; it was so soft and so comfortable to walk with. I was so happy with my TruStep." Rafael continued to state, "With my TruStep, I didn't feel limited anymore."
Not only did he use the TruStep foot, but Rafael also had the opportunity to use the Trés foot. "They really changed my life." Rafael says about both of his College Park feet, "They are both extraordinary and I feel confident to recommend them to anyone, if they just try them, they will see how amazing the feet truly are."
Rafael wasn't the only person who was thrilled about the abilities his College Park feet helped him achieve; his mother exclaims "We are very happy that he has had the opportunity to use the College Park feet, we see his happiness and have seen him develop his activities with more dexterity." His friends have all commented on how amazed they are at Rafael's physical activities using his Trés foot, he has even exceeded them in some of the sports they play together. Rafael like any teenager loves sports. He takes part in basketball, cycling, swimming, volleyball and he says, "I will try any kind of sport that comes on the road!"
"While playing soccer my dream was to become a goal keeper." Rafael remembers fondly, "but before my College Park feet, the foot that I was using didn't give any pulse, there would have been no way I could have been a goal keeper for my high school team." Rafael continues on, "But the Trés foot made my dreams come true and I actually became the goal keeper of the soccer team at my high school."  When it comes to comparing both the TruStep and the Trés feet, Rafael says "I like them both. The TruStep works best for daily activities and walking, it is extremely comfortable. The Trés foot is lighter and gives more impulse to jump and to practice any type of sport." He continues to say, "My whole life has changed and I really feel like a new person, I have always been very active and full of energy and with my College Park feet I am not limited anymore."
Rafael gives his personal thanks to College Park Industries saying, "I congratulate and Thank College Park for their extensive work and dedication to discover feet that are comfortable and the work they do to improve the quality of life for the users of their prosthetic feet."
