- Name:
- Danny Stevens
- Occupation:
- Verizon Wireless
- Type of Amputation:
- Right, BK
Following a motorcycle crash in April of 2003, Danny Stevens was in constant pain. He had shattered his right leg, and although doctors were able to save the damaged limb, Danny was taking pain medication on a daily basis.
As a particularly energetic and active individual, Danny found it difficult to take pleasure in some of the activities that he had enjoyed before his accident. As a result, he elected to have his leg amputated three years to the month after his accident.
Initially, Danny's prosthetist fitted him with a Freedom Silhouette Foot. Because of his active lifestyle as a mountain biker, surfer and golfer, he wanted to try a foot that allowed for superior side-to-side ankle movement. "College Park Feet are just better for sports," Danny beams. "The first time I wore my Venture golfing, I shot a 73, which was one over par."
"I wear the Venture everyday and for golf, and the TruStep to surf," Danny says. In his spare time, Danny also enjoys mountain biking.
