 Name: David Light
Occupation: Prosthetist, West Texas Rehabilitation Center
Type of Amputation: Left BK
Following a motorcycle accident in 1973, David Light, who was then 14 years old, became a left, BK amputee. In the years that have followed, David has tried many different prostheses, but has found only one that provides him with the comfort and stability his active lifestyle requires.
As a regular hiker, bird hunter, beachgoer and boater, David, CPO/LPO at the West Texas Rehabilitation Center, is constantly walking on uneven terrain. In order to make a smooth transition from sandy beaches to a rocky, hilly landscape, David relies on his TruStep every day. "I wear a hard socket, and the TruStep takes up the shock for me," he says. "I do construction as a hobby, and the foot holds up especially well."

David has been wearing the TruStep for just about 8 years now, however, he can still recall the first time he walked on the foot. "I remember thinking, they've really got something here!"
"My foot is the last thing I think about," David exclaims. "The TruStep is good, all-around. It takes a lot of punishment," he laughs.
Whether he's fitting his patients or out for a stroll on the beach, David depends on his TruStep Foot every step of the way.
